Recording Update September 21

Hey all, just wanted to write a quick update.

The rehearsal process is in full swing. I’ve got the band together and we’re working on the arrangements of the songs. Actually we’re having a rehearsal tonight.

Because of the number of people who have shown interest in this project I’ve started a musician’s Facebook page (so I won’t have to use my personal page).

Please become a fan and pass the word along. I’ll be posting updates there regularly.

Design: John’s Gospel

Sermon series design: John’s Gospel. I went for a very simple design taking a stock photo of the sky and simply cutting out text, screen blending it and overlaying it a couple of times. I really wanted to get the contrast between the darkness of the sky and the color that the text brings out.

Recording Project Update August 22

I received all the edited scratch vocal/guitar tracks this week. They’re sounding a little weird. It’s always strange hearing a song not like you hear it in your head, but that’s where the band comes in. I’m anxious to get going with the guys to see what we can come up with. I’ve sent out the tracks for them to listen to, and next comes rehearsal and then recording!

The 5 songs I’ve recorded thus far are:

Recording Project Update August 13

My recording project started today!

My buddy, Nate Steven, is doing the recording for me. He’s great because he has a mobile rig so we can record anywhere. So, today we recorded in my 2nd bedroom/office/laundry room.

We recorded scratch acoustic/vocal tracks for 6 tunes! Below are some pictures.
